How to make a local handbook

  1. Go to your approved cloud workspace. Create a folder for the practice.
  2. Create one cloud document called LOCAL HANDBOOK. This document is the front door; keep the actual files in their normal cloud folders.
  3. Add links, not copies. Use the simple template below and point each heading to the practice's existing shared resource.
  4. Call / On Call & Teaching → link to the call schedule and teaching schedule.
  5. Billing → link to the shared folder used for submitted hospital billing.
  6. DOT Phrases → link to the shared DOT-phrase document or folder.
  7. Group Project → link to the current shared project document or folder.
  8. Live Inventory → link to a shared sheet/list that can be updated in real time.
  9. Forms → link to frequently used shared forms. You can also include office contacts, consultants, pools, short-stay references, or anything else the practice actually uses.
  10. Share the handbook with the practice group using approved permissions, then send me the handbook link so it can be connected here. Get my contact info ↗
Keep the handbook itself short. It is an index to approved cloud resources, not a place to duplicate documents or store patient-specific information.
